Solving ASUS 1015BX AMD C-60 Catalyst Drivers Failed to Install
Posted by: admin
The problem of install failure was experienced by a user who got an AMD C-60 powered netbook so called an ASUS 1015BX. However, he found that it is not really good in performance. The Windows 7 Starter is a bit terrible and the HD is not really large. Therefore, the first thing he upgraded is the RAM. He added about 4GB, then swap the HD and install the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit. The process of upgrading was fine but the issue even comes from the video drivers. They could not be installed properly. To be exact, when you install the AMD official driver packages, the Vision Engine Control Center is installed but it only lists information on the CPU. In detail, the driver listed on ASUS support site does install CCC but it cannot be launched. The Device Manager even lists the GPU as a Standard VGA Display Adapter. Then, he reinstalled the Windows 64-bit and Windows 32-bit as well as trying the driver versions 11.9-11.5 together with the ASUS supplied deriver on the 32-bit install. It was frustrating since all of the drivers have not been accepted. What went wrong?
Solving ASUS 1015BX AMD C-60 Catalyst Drivers Failed to Install
Let’s compare to another user which has the same AMD C-60 but differnet laptop. He would buy an Acer 522 and he planned to upgrade some components. He wanted the 4GB of RAM and an SSD along with the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. He tried to download the 64bit drivers on the internet, but he could not find them. So, he browsed some information about the proper drivers. Finally, he found that the Acer ships the same base specs with their 722 model including the Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. Therefore, he checked the driver downloads for the Acer 722 and he found it. In summary, you should go to the Acer Aspire One 722 download site and download the drivers you need.
Install the VGA Driver from the site which is coded as: VGA_AMD_8.861.0.0_W7x86W7x64_A. Then, reboot your machine. After rebooting, the GPU should not find any problem while operating. You will have the excellent video playback and the right display resolution.
